ABOUT LORNA
Lorna’s career began in dermatology nursing at Charing Cross Hospital, where she developed an early passion for skin health and patient care. She went on to join Collagen UK (The Collagen Corporation) in the early 1990s, playing a key role in introducing and building awareness of facial injectables at a time when the industry was still in its infancy.
Alongside this, Lorna started an MBA, during which she launched a small aesthetic practice that quickly grew into something much bigger.
In 1996, she founded The Bowes Clinics - one of the UK’s first multi-site aesthetic clinic groups. Under her leadership, the business expanded across Great Britain and became known for its progressive approach to treatment, adopting emerging technologies such as hyaluronic acid fillers, advanced skincare, and botulinum toxin. The group was successfully sold in 2004.
Following the sale, Lorna held senior roles within Q-Med UK (the original manufacturer of Restylane), spanning clinical training in the UK and Europe and business leadership, before leading the Aesthetic Dermatology division at Wigmore Medical.
Throughout this time, Lorna’s desire to support her community led her to join the governing body of a rural primary school, where she was soon voted in as Vice Chair of Governors—an experience she found to be both deeply rewarding and professionally stretching.
Today, through AestheticSource, she continues to champion a science-first approach to aesthetics, supporting practitioners with clinically proven products, education, and strategic guidance.
Concurrently, following a deeply personal healing journey, Lorna developed a profound passion for meditation and heart-brain coherence techniques, which she practices daily. Having studied with Dr. Joe Dispenza and the HeartMath Institute, and as a member of the Inner Health Coalition (a global network of healthcare practitioners), Lorna has led meditation groups with colleagues worldwide and volunteered at numerous retreats hosted by Dr. Joe Dispenza.
